Panel of Arbitrators

The IFTA Panel of Arbitrators is composed of distinguished entertainment attorneys with familiarity with litigation and knowledge of international financing, sales agency and licensing of motion pictures.  They understand the unique and complex nature of the film industry, and are committed to resolving disputes quickly and fairly.  
 
IFTA Arbitrators are independent.  They are not employees of IFTA, and receive no compensation from IFTA.  Pursuant to Rule 6 of the IFTA Rules for International Arbitration, the parties rank their arbitrator preferences from a list of not less than three (3) proposed  arbitrators, if practicable, in the relevant jurisdiction.  The Arbitral Agent will designate the arbitrator who is deemed mutually acceptable to both parties.  (Please see the IFTA Rules for more information).  IFTA takes no responsibility for the substantive decisions or processes used by any individual arbitrator, except as provided by the IFTA Rules and applicable law.
 
The Arbitrators are vetted and approved by the Arbitration Advisory Committee which updates the Panel annually.  The arbitrators must qualify each year on the grounds of ongoing expertise and availability in order to remain on the Panel.  IFTA Arbitrators are located in the United States and in fifteen countries around the world.
